Volcanic wine with unique characteristics, fresh mineral and slightly salty typical of the Azores terroir. Fresh, with good acidity and some oiliness, and a large saline component. Ideal partner for oysters, barnacles and bivalves. It also works with grilled fish, salads and fresh seafood.

Score 93 out of 100 pts by Robert Parker and 18.5 out of 20 pts by Revista dos Vinhos .

Wine Taste

Clean citrus yellow color. Pure mineral aroma, citrus with notes of grapefruit. Tense attack, fresh with a very present minerality and acidity, good persistence and saline notes. Special old vines vinification.

Origin

António Maçanita wines are produced in different regions, but with a very firm guide: the historical recovery and the appreciation of the inherent characteristics of the grape varieties and regions, not following trends, but creating them, sometimes unintentionally. In António Maçanita's wines and in their production, his dedication to terroir and sustainable local development is clear.

Dissatisfied, disruptive, inconvenient, daring, restless, ravishing. These are some of the less consensual adjectives that can define both António Maçanita, winemaker and consultant, and the wines he gets his hands on.

The Azores Wine Company project is based on the enormous uniqueness, exclusivity and history of Azores wines - Volcanic Wines. The founders of the Azores Wine Company suspected that there was a great potential for quality, taking into account the grape varieties, terroir and existing wines. This project confirmed that by joining their knowledge to the experimentation of their suspicions, wines placed on a level that no one would have dared to dream for the Azores Region very recently.
