An award-winning olive oil full of flavor coming from the ancient olive trees of southern Portugal.


Tasting Notes
Extra smooth olive oil, with a nice fruity sensation of fresh grass and almonds. It goes perfectly with salads, tomatoes, bread, cold soups and vinaigrettes.

Monterosa is an artisan producer of olive oil in the Eastern Algarve. In Moncarapacho secular olives trees grow side by side with high quality ornamental plants.

An organic olive oil supported in 50 acres of olive grove planted with the varieties Maçanilha, Cobrançosa, Verdeal and Picual.

Here the olives are picked by hand in autumn and immediately take to a Roman press, where they are ground to paste in a granite stone mill. The olive oil is then extracted with state of the art modern equipment and stored in stainless steel containers until it is filtered and bottled. The result is an olive oil of the highest quality: Monterosa Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Monterosa produces 4 single varietal olive oils: Cobrançosa, Maçanilha, Picual and Verdeal and another one that is a Blend made with a mixture of selected olive varieties: There are differences and flavor character between them. Cobrançosa and Picual are the spicier varieties and Verdeal smoother. But there is much more to appreciate than spicy! The fruity and bitter also vary in intensity in each one.
