Verde Sparkling Wine is a recent drink highly qualified produced in Vinho Verde region since 1999.

Vinho Verde  Sparkling Rosé is usually made from red Verde varieties but some have the addition of typical white Verde grapes like Alvarinho variety.

It is a sparkling typically fine with a persistent bubble. The aroma is elegant and delicate between floral and fruity. The taste has a lot of depth and persistence with a nice complexity.

This kind of wine is very pleasurable and refreshing to drink, a terrific pairing for any sort of food even the most acid or spicy. These sparklings are fruity with a perfect balance between minerality and its low alcohol level. Finishing in a dry, fresh and very floral scent with a sweet light taste. Sometimes this sparklings are a keeper but they are so drinkable right within their youth petilance that they don´t get to rest in the bottle much longer.

History
Vinho Verde is the biggest DOC of Portugal, a region established in nine DOC sub-regions, named after rivers or towns: Monção, Melgaço, Lima, Basto, Cávado, Ave, Amarante, Baião, Sousa and Paiva in the cool, rainy, verdant north-west of the country.
The vines grow in fertile, granite soils along rivers that flow from the mountains of the east to burst out into the ocean between golden surfing beaches.
The maritime partially influence (blocked by hills) and the combination of grape and climate contribute for richer, fuller, subtly complex wines, dry and totally still.

Recently, since 1999, producers invested in fully sparkling DOC Vinho Verde – a successfully growing and promising venture.
Sparkling vinho verde can be made from traditional single grape varieties of Vinho Verde as well as a blend of indigenous Verde varieties.

White sparkling wines are made from white traditional grapes of Alvarinho, Loureiro,Trajadura, Avesso and Arinto. Alvarelhão, Vinhão, Pedral, Padeiro, Espadeiro and sometimes Touriga Nacional are the grape varieties used in Rosé and Red sparkling wines.

Sparkling wines require a careful selection of grapes. The resulting must from this selection ferments with controlled temperature, yielding the base wine for sparkling. This wine suffers a second fermentation in the bottle. The stage for at least 9 months in the cellar at a low and constant temperature allows this sparkling to show all the elegance. After this phase of fermentation and aging, the disgorging takes place - an operation that allows the elimination of existing yeast in the bottle and replace the provisional metal stopper for the typical sparkling cork.
